Dear all,
I know that many of you had the pleasure of working with Taju Abdul-Raheem, Deputy Director for Africa for the UN Millennium Campaign, and it is with great sadness that I write to say that Taju met with a fatal road accident yesterday in Nairobi. Taju was amongst Africa’s foremost voices for pan Africanism and social justice, both inside and outside the continent. His weekly post card and columns in about 10 major African newspapers made him known to virtually…

BIO
Cross speaks a musical language that blends acoustic rock with alternative rock/pop/country to create his own avant-garde dialect. While his sounds may be hard to define and his composition difficult to conveniently box into a single genre, his passion is straight up. Cross is a consummate artist and the struggle and inspiration behind him work comes directly from life experience. For that reason, perhaps, he defies conventional categories while concentrating on reinventing…

Joshua Cross volunteered his musical talent and provided us with some great Music, the sun was HOT
but many came out to drop their jars off, enjoyed the food, face painting and the many other presentations and fun we had that evening but all and all it was a success. In 2009 we have faith it will be even better.

When we visited Eglise Vivante in Gikondo, we met the volunteers involved in the program and our brother Jules. We joined them in their work and were touched to see this small group of people making a difference, managing to feed 150 children once a week with few resources. In speaking with these volunteers, one lady said to us “twe twararize amarira arakama, none harageze ko namwe murira mukihanagura” - “We have no more tears…our tears are dried up, now is your time to cry and wipe yours.” On…

I recently came across fixourworld.ca and I am glad to know that a lot of us agree that our world is broken and needs to be fixed.
I recently launched an effort at letsfixtheworld.org. My goal is simple; use technology and Internet to provide a platform where people like us can come together, communicate, brainstorm and identify real problems and find real solutions.
Good luck to all of us in our efforts. We can do this.

Dear Linda,
The world feels a bit out of control. But through collective action, we can demand a fair result for people feeling the worst effects of this recession – including those living in extreme poverty – and by doing so have a positive long-term impact on the global economy.
With his unique position of global leadership, President Barack Obama has the ability to bring leaders together for a global solution. Can you add your name to our petition asking him to do…

When I started the 21 day fast in solidarity with Zimbabwe, I did the first five days as a meditative fast, then asked people on facebook to sign the petition at www.one.org to "bail me out of my fast" for one day. The response was so big, I've been bailed out of my fast and then some.
I'm not fasting anymore, but I did learn a few things while fasting that I think will last me the rest of my life.
1. How much what we put in our mouths is a part of our culture. We seem to…

When Dissertation Troubles Surrounded Me:
This is an appreciative letter to thank the people who provided pin-point and professional
dissertation help at the time when I was totally disappointed and had braced myself to meet the disaster regarding my PhD degree. It was the worst time of my life when I even thought of my dissertation disapproval.
I was busy working and handling my social life. You can say that…

Ken Tizzard of "the Watchmen and Ian Thornley Fame was there with his new band as well as Loudlove an amazing band from Ottawa, Ontario. The party was fabulous and came off without a hitch. Our good friends at EyeOnIndie Tv are producing a dvd from that evening so that the skateboard park can continue to sell dvd's from…
