GuluWalk 2009 is here!

This year we are committing to walk on October 24. we're also asking you to be a 'builder'.

To be a builder we're asking you go online, send emails to your friends and family and be a fundraiser by helping us sellout the 25,000 bricks we have for sale at $20 apiece.

All of the funds raised will go towards the building and programming of the Gulu Youth Cultural Centre, a structure that will bring the community together. The facility will include a theatre, a training ground and a central hub of activity that will promote locally led approaches to arts, culture, justice and ultimately peace.

GuluWalk has been granted a plot of land on the property of the Paramount Chief, and it is through this partnership that we aim, with your help, to be a builder for northern Uganda.

GuluWalk 2009 takes place around the world in just over two weeks - on Saturday Oct. 24, including in many cities across Canada. In Hamilton, the walk begins at 11:30 a.m. at McMaster University 1280 Main St W

The GuluWalk began with the steps of just two people in Toronto in 2005. It has since grown into a worldwide movement in support of peace, stability and rebuilding in northern Uganda. Last year, more than 75 cities in 16 different countries walked in support of youth programs for the region.
