Good Morning #TeamBrantford,
As many may be aware, in the interest of public safety, Brantford's Canada Day celebration evening programming at Lions Park was cancelled yesterday July 1 due to severe weather, power outages, downed hydro lines, and storm-related damage throughout the park.
The Canada Day evening programming, including the Carnival and fireworks display, has now been rescheduled for this evening, July 2, and our amazing Events Team is looking for #TeamBrantford staff volunteers to help prepare the park for today's rescheduled events.
We need volunteers this morning to assist with park cleanup and site preparation, including collecting and removing litter and storm debris, so the space is ready for event activities beginning at 4:00 p.m. today.
Whether you can assist for an hour or for the morning, your support would be greatly appreciated as we work together to get Lions Park event-ready for tonight's celebration.
If you are available to help, please contact Lori-Dawn Cavin at LCavin@brantford.casoon as soon as possible.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to cleanup and recovery efforts. We greatly appreciate your assistance
