As a victims’ advocacy firm, we have learned that many claimants do not realize that help exists for them. In simple terms, we have learned that although we can’t make the pain of their injury go away-whether physical or emotional, however, we can help them by giving them direction, towards getting them back to as normal a life as possible.
Our information seminar is a product of what we have learned over the past 12years. For example:
People do not realize that there is independent help out there to deal with their claims
People do not realize that once a claim is accepted, that a number of additional benefits are available: for example if a claimant is deemed totally disabled by WSIB, they may be entitled to CPP disability, as well as their children being entitled to benefits also.
People will often pay for their own medications, not realizing that they are covered for those costsPeople do not realize that they are entitled to tax credits
These examples are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the content of our seminar.
