Colleen's family & friends are holding a fundraiser to raise money in hopes for a diagnosis & cure. She has been ill for approximately 2 years, if not longer. Her symptoms have increased and are progressively getting worse. About 6 months ago, they did find Bartonella, a strand of Lyme disease. They treated it for 10 weeks with 2 different antibiotics but it did not work. It should have been treated long ago but it went undetected. What started out as flu like symptoms, now has her using a walker or wheelchair, constant pain in her joints, muscles, hips, back and shoulders. Colleen spends 90% of her time in bed. It has affected her eyesight and she has problems swallowing at times now. The pain is intolerable and medications are not helping at all. We need to get her to a centre where they will diagnos and treat her and as of right now, that option is only available in the States.
