In Collaboration with Empowerment Squared:

June 29th, 2013 will mark the inauguration of the Community Cup in Hamilton, a free multicultural community celebration of soccer, culture and the arts. Fast becoming known as the most effective tool for youth community-engagement, the Community Cup will debut in Hamilton in an effort to bring people together for “a day on the field” celebrating and welcoming communities”.

Centralized upon the popular seven-on-seven recreational soccer tournament, where 10 teams participate with a goal to make new friendships with our newcomers and other community members, the Inaugural Community Cup is a day event that will also attract over 500 people with its multicultural, community-building activities. Examples this year include:

• Live multicultural entertainment

• International Food Bazaar

• Cultural Craft/Arts

• Kids Zone

The Community Tent, will feature different community agencies offering services to newcomers in Hamilton. The Community Tent perfectly captures the spirit of the entire event – an opportunity for new immigrant families and the integrated Hamilton community to share and connect.
