Pass the Beets is a four-piece band sprouting from the buds of Hamilton. United at Mohawk College's Music Department, PTB began by playing at various functions at the college. Their jazzed lettuce led them to add more flavours, such as some Top 40 Tasty Tomatoes, Classic Rockin' Poppin' Peppers, Motown's Munchy Mushrooms, their tasty Blues Cheese Dressing, and their favourite topping of all : Funkin' Bumpin' Beets. With Tammy Tarr on guitar, Andrew Deacon on drums, Jonas Paavola - Pearson on bass, and Alyssa Dupuis on vocals, Pass the Beets brings you a musical tossed salad on a silver platter.

The twenty first annual Gandhi Peace Festival. The theme this year is Stopping Violence Against Women. We are going to engage people by offering snack foods that are aligned with Gandhi's vegetarian life style. We will also do peace glitter tattoo's for the kids, this will provide us with more time to talk with parents and kids about living a healthy and peaceful life style. We will try to talk to kids about anti bullying and to the parents we will teach national and international issue's that effect our lives. We will hand out pamphlets to teach the Teflon method, which deals with how to properly avoid a toxic person. We feel this will help people interact more peacefully with one another and to help them avoid unwanted situations.

WASTE IS A PROBLEM: Landfills  bursting at the seams, hazardous waste leaching into our groundwater, oceans full of plastic and toxins, and our streets and waterfronts littered with garbage which is harmful to wildlife.

To address the issue of waste, Earth Day Hamilton-Burlington created Waste Wasters Program which:

Waste Watchers is also sharing waste reduction tips, to help you create less waste everyday.
