Spider-girl's Web Captures Hamiltonian Hearts
Over 100 people gathered on Sunday at The Corktown for an afternoon of music and giving in support of six year old Caitlyn Chisel. From her home in Thunder Bay, Caitlyn and her family watched via Facebook Live as a roomful of strangers raised $2500 towards a bone marrow transplant that is needed to save her life. A petition was also circulated to ask the Ontario government to take greater interest in this health care issue and to provide funding for the life-saving procedure.
The must-see, American Rogues thrilled fans and closed out the event which also included stellar performances by Karen Thornton, Alfie Smith and the Top Side Blues Band along with MC Christophe Davidson and The Corktown Pub all gave selflessly their time and talents <3 Approximately 50 local businesses from Westdale on down to James S donated silent auction items including gift cards, Valentino's Gift Card and $235 cash from the Staff! in Westdale, Gilbert's Big and Tall Shop King W, Radiant Beauty Supplies from Locke St, The House of Java James S. Caitlyn’s surgery has been postponed on several occasions due to health related issues. In the meantime, fundraising events continue to take place and keep her family hopeful that the day will soon come when Caitlyn will be declared cancer-free.
