First hand account of arrests: (no altering of this status has been made please understand the language is in context) hiy hiy
Miles Howe Holy fuck. OK. Got arrested in a violent takedown this morning about 9am. RCMP using gunboat diplomacy surrounded encampment with all guns drawn. K9 units, pistols and rifles pointed. At one point RCMP just rushed the scene and grabbed everybody. Two Warriors got shot with rubber shotgun shells. The Mi'kmaq Warriors all got arrested too, as well as several others at that point, including Norma and some youth who came running in. Went to Codiac in Moncton with about 20 other men. Initially was asked to sign forms for obstruction charges. Figured I'd take chances with judge instead. Charges then turned to mischief with conditions. Still wouldn't sign. Cops tried to convince me to sign repeatedly. At 3:15am they read me the 'injunction', no charges, and kicked me out into the Moncton streets. I've been wandering for two hours trying to keep warm and am now thankfully using computer at a local hotel that just opened. All Warriors and protesters that remain in Codiac are safe and relatively unhurt, including the two who were shot with rubber shells. I do not know what has happened there since 3:15. They remain there on the potential of a variety of charges. I do have photos of what happened this morning, but have no idea as to what happened to most of my equipment. If anyone is reading this in the Moncton area, I am at the Marriot Residency on Main with only a camera and a set of car keys, no money or ID. Thanks for your concern, please consider sharing this with other concerned people.
