Event Description

Dr. Frances "Ming" Kuo, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The idea that nature plays a key role in human health has been documented through history, but until recently had not been tested. Rigorous scientific examination has yielded astounding evidence: greening our communities can support stronger immune systems, enhanced learning and productivity in children and adults, lower rates of mental illness, stronger communities and reduced crime. Dr. Kuo presents the highlights from hundreds of studies involving tens of millions of people and discusses their implications for creating a healthy human habitat.

Fee: $15 RBG members, $18 non-members
