I would like to make a change for street cats in our world and especially Hamilton Ontario, where many cats are treated like disposable property. I am trying to start a sanctuary for cats www.change.org/petitions/sanctuary-for-cats-at-gage-park
We have thousands of signatures but still NO Sanctuary so we have decided to get some like minded people together and share a property that we can care for the cats on together. We need you help. We need someone who will purchase a property for us to share and let us pay the monthly payments.
Add Tips for others to use
Join with your SPCA to start or use the TNR program and geared to income spay/neuter program. If the numbers of cats in poor neighborhoods is reduced, then cats will become more valuable and not be a 'throw away item' in our town.
Build some shelters in your yard and feed strays, then ask the SPCA to help you with spay/neuter (TNR) so they won't reproduce. It will stop the cats from spreading diseases, stop cat fights, spraying and reproducing in a place they are not wanted. Take in the feral and tame cats and help to find them home. Join with a local cat rescue like the 'Kit Cat Club of Hamilton' found on facebook.
