I seek to reduce the carbon footprint associated with the urban movement of goods while supporting the local economy, pedestrian and cycle-friendly infrastructure, and creating jobs for people who may otherwise face barriers to employment.

Buy a cargo bike and take your kids to daycare or school with it, or do you grocery shopping by cargo bike.
Most trips people make are less than 5K, yet they hop in a car burning fossil fuels, contributing to emissions, and not being active. Make short trips, especially, active ones.
Instead of going to the gym after work, go for a brisk bike ride.
If you need something a bit too large to carry from a nearby store, and you don't have a trailer or cargo bike, consider investigating whether there is a bike delivery service in town. Use them. They are trying to help make a difference.

About Me: Describe what you are doing in the areas of Peace,Environment, Health, Empowerment
I live my life for experiences and relationships rather than things. I strive to live simply and to consciously avoid, as much as possible, participation in the exploitative consumer culture and globalized market economy. I support, as much as I can, local economic endeavours, purchasing locally when possible. I have little money to put towards poverty alleviation and conflict reduction, so I focus on extricating myself from the system, and fighting the system, that causes so much poverty and conflict around the world. Reducing dependence on oil products, as much as it is an environmental act, also contributes to confict reduction as so many wars are fought over oil.
