DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 1st Annual Singer/Songwriter Competition at
  The Old Powerhouse!\n\nMy name is Malachi Greenidge and I am your hos

 nThis competition starts on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 at 8pm and runs 
 each wednesday following for a total of 13 weeks.\n\nThere will be 10 
 musical artists each night over a 10 week period. A panel of Industry 
 judges will choose the top 2 artists from each night to move on to the
  semi-finals to be held weeks 11 & 12, for a total of 20 semi-finalist
 s. Five artists will be chosen from both weeks 11 & 12 (Wed, Aug 26th;
  Wed, Sept 2nd) to move on to the finals on week 13 (Wed, Sept 9th) fo
 r a total of 10 finalists. The judges will then choose 1st, 2nd, & 3rd
  place grand prize!\n\nRULES & REGULATIONS\n- ALL participants must be
  14 years of age or older\n- This is open to solo or duo UNSIGNED acts
  only, NO BANDS\n- all songs performed MUST be the artists' own origin
 al work (NO COVERS)\n- each participant may enter a maximum of 3 songs
 , songs may be both instrumental & vocal, instrumental only or vocal o
 nly\n- artists may use any number and/or type of instruments for their
  performance except for the following:\n: drum kits are NOT permitted 
 due to time constraints, but other forms of percussion are allowed, su
 ch as (but not limited to) bongos, djembe, cajone, shakers, etc.\n: pr
 e-programmed computer/drum loops are NOT permitted, although you may u
 se a loop pedal if you would like to simulate different arrangements l
